I've got a tattoo of a gecko on my lower (ish) back (it's gecko-size, from a photo I took on holiday - was a good idea at the time!) that I got in my early 20s. After 20 years it needs touching up.
To the right of the tattoo are a couple of small scars - probably about a cm and a half each, which were obtained when I was raped on the ground in woodland when I was 14 (was held down on top of some shape stones). I'd really like to get these covered up so was thinking of getting the tattoo covered up with a new design, covering the scars as well. Quite happy to go significantly bigger. Want something really beautiful but maybe with some form of symbolism relating to, well, "fuck you, you didn't destroy me" to my attacker would be good. But I am at a loss - just keep staring at google images blankly.
Any ideas/inspiration would be greatly appreciated, then maybe I could get a tattooist to design one for me?
NB. yes, ideally I would have got them covered up the first time I had a tattoo done, but was pretty off the rails and dealing with my past in other, more risky/unhealthy ways at the time.
