Extra unexpected tax credit payment

This morning I have my usual monthly payment and a second payment for almost twice that amount. No indication it was coming on the app and no letter. This would be amazing but I'm afraid it's an error.... anyone else have similar?

Yes exactly the same! This has happened before and I called them as I was scared it was an error and they’d take it back but the guy just said no it’s correct. The paperwork arrived a few days later. It was some kind of adjustment apparently. I’m hoping it’s the same this time but I’ll wait a few days for any paperwork before I call them.

This happens to me about once a year, usually in April, it's just what they have underpaid you over the year.
