The beginning of the end... just peed my pants

Oh my goodness... I was lying on son's bed chatting and saying goodnight. Left his room and walked into my room. Farted, and then peed my pants!! I'm mortified. It happened in such a way that I wasn't sure at first (had a panty liner on). I didn't even feel the urge to go. Is this the beginning of the end...? Am I entering middle age for real? I'm 39. I had some prolapse problems 6 years ago when second son was born.
Do I need to buy tenner lady now then? Oh god. Anyone had similar or reassure me this was a one off? I'm back to work this week after the summer hols!!!

I haven't had a prolapse but I did stand up 5 months after having my dd and pissed myself - didn't even need the loo, hasn't happened since and touch wood it was a one off, but given you've had a prolapse I'd go back to the gp to be sure

Sunshinegirl82 · 31/08/2021 20:40

Have you hurt your back at all recently? Or have any back pain?

UserNameNameNameUser · 31/08/2021 20:42

Are you still doing your kegles regularly?

dandeliondid · 31/08/2021 20:43

Thanks for replying. I didn't even think I may need to see a gp.

I have the odd lower back twinge as I do still lift my kids every now and then. In fact I gave my son a piggy back today during our walk. So maybe it's related to that. Oh bugger Confused

Not doing kegles. Do you do them and how often, when? Feel like crying as I'd forgotten about them.

No good if a prolapse, the gynaecologist couldn't stop laughing when I told her I was doing exercises.
Verbena87 · 31/08/2021 20:46

Did you have any physio when you were symptomatic with the prolapse? Maybe get back on whatever exercises you did then - saying this because when my prolapse was first diagnosed I was super diligent with my physio. Now I do a few half-arsed kegels when I remember, which I suspect will come back to bite me in the arse (or soak me in the knickers) at some point.

If not, pelvic physio might be a good shout.

Be careful with farting.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 31/08/2021 20:59

Luckily for you Panto season is about to start - you should go down a storm with your new cameo act!

UserNameNameNameUser · 31/08/2021 21:02

@Tooembarrassingtomention not necessarily true. I had a prolapse and was still advised to do them.

dandeliondid · 31/08/2021 21:07

Ah... I had beans in toast earlier... been parping all evening!

Get yourself the NHS Squeezy app and practice religiously for a fortnight. If no improvement at all (you should start to see a difference quite quickly although muscle strengthening will take longer) see GP

dandeliondid · 31/08/2021 21:10

Thanks LakeFly

Physio ?

2bazookas · 31/08/2021 21:27

I had a prolapse after a very big baby; and eventually the pee problem got bad enough I had it surgically repaired. (No mesh back then). I really recommend that op.

😂

crowsfeet57 · 31/08/2021 21:51

This has happened to me, it turned out I had a UTI and hadn't realised.

Verbena87 · 31/08/2021 22:04

Kegels can go either way with prolapse, depends what’s going on with your muscles. Mine were lax so kegels helped. Friend with the same grade and type of prolapse had hypertonic pelvic floor so needed exercises to help relax it. See a physio if you can.

MooBoom · 31/08/2021 22:06

Do you wear panty liners daily? Does this happen often? I’m early 30s but I’ve had some episodes of uncontrollable bladder function since having my children so can understand the frustration. It sucks.
