What's the most ridiculous reason a neighbour has got mardy with you?

I once was accused of not saying hello to a neighbour and he told my parents I was rude (I was about 20!). In reality I had said 'hello' but he was totally deaf and didn't hear me Hmm. No amount of explanation would suffice and he spent the next few years staring me down and huffing whenever he saw me.

I moved in with DP. He'd had a horrible split from his ex (she left him) all before I met him. A clean break payment was made to her. Both parties feel hard done by which a solicitor once said to me is a good sign of fairness! Unfortunately our house is ND to her elderly mother. As you can imagine this has not gone well! Unfortunately his ex gets more badly behaved whilst visiting her DM as time goes on. One of her favourite games is targeting my friends and we've had notes with threats, people blocked in ect. It's all a bit ridiculous and I just don't feel the same emotional response back. I'm slightly bemused. She stood on tip toes peering over my fence and laughing at me getting the washing in the other day. I can't think of another person that I know who would be interested in me getting the washing in, not even my DM! All our movements are monitored. As I leave my house I like to say Elvis is leaving the building! I think it's the closest I'll get to being a celeb with my own paparazzi!

Twat of neighbour, (military, liked to throw weight around and intimidate) complained that my cat and his cat had had a fight but my cat won. Implied I should keep my cat in so theirs could go out….erm that’d be a no. Then Threatened to squirt him with water if he went into thier garden told him to go ahead and use the hose if needs be. He wasnt expecting me to agree with him and was a bit flummoxed.

Same guy, shouted at my Dd and her friends for climbing on a wall out front, put the fear of god into them. They weren’t doing any harm and Not on or near his property. I Went to confront him but he was halfway down the road.
He knocked door on way back, starts shouting at me trying to justify his actions and accusing me of being a shit parent.
I gave it to him with both barrels and told him to fuck off from my doorstep. He was furious demanded I send my Dh over to speak to him when he came home. Told him that I didn’t need a man to fight my battles and to fuck off again…he was furious!
