Children's library role - does anyone know about this?

I've namechanged not to link to my usual account but am considering applying for a job and would love go hear from anyone in this role or who knows of it.

It is working under the children's librarian for our area - and includes children's events and promoting reading. The main big push would be the Summer Reading Challenge.

What is the job like day to day?
What are the assemblies like? (I'm an ex secondary teacher so can do an assembly but might not be the funniest or most creative etc!)

I get anxious with new things (a reason I left teaching ages ago) but am fine once I am confident or if someone tells me I am doing okay. Although I can still look convincing in the classes I teach (adults).

I'm sure the job will be v competitive but I have a reasonable cv. I want to know all about it before applying!
