Why would you want to toast a glass?

Get a dualit toaster- ours is 27 years old and still going strong

magicstar1 · 31/08/2021 20:54

I got a lovely one in Aldi recently ....it’s only got one long slot, but will take two normal slices or one long turnover etc.
My mother actually went and got one too after trying mine. We got the matching glass kettle too.

CurryLover55 · 31/08/2021 21:03

I’ll look on the Aldi website

I haven't seen these. Off to Google!

EastWestWhosBest · 31/08/2021 21:15

Why a glass toaster? You’d be forever cleaning the damn thing.

LittleBrenda · 31/08/2021 21:19

I’ve got a glass kettle and end up descaling it all the time because it looks so grotty. I can’t even imagine the maintenance on a glass toaster!

ShaunaTheSheep · 31/08/2021 21:23

How long before the novelty of watching bread turn brown wears off?

CurryLover55 · 31/08/2021 21:27

It’s cos I have a see through kettle. I love the LED lights in it!

I have a dualit glass toaster, it has to be cleaned like a normal toaster, just a wipe and clean of the crumb tray - it doesn’t need constant cleaning at all.

I love being able to see the bread toasting!! Get it!!

Hihellohi · 31/08/2021 21:52

Sorry, it’s not dualit, it’s magimix!

CurryLover55 · 31/08/2021 23:22

hihellohi how much was it?

EmeraldGreenVelvet · 31/08/2021 23:49

I don't understand how these are a thing? How on earth do you keep it clean inside?

OhGiveUp · 31/08/2021 23:50

If you're quick, Aldi still have some in store, well they did today.
I bought an Aldi glass toaster last year. It's still in its box waiting for the current toaster to die though.

Me too. I'm not sure what I expected but I was a bit disappointed. It's just a toaster with a window.

I've ordered the Aldi one, should be arriving on Friday. I am ridiculously excited about watching my toast brown Grin

I know this is an old thread but Mumsnet have just recommended toasters. We've had the Magimix Vision for almost 10 years and it is great, we got it fot £110 on Ebay, reduced because the glass is the wrong way round so the word Magimix is back to front. Loads on Amazon, used but simply damaged packaging, start at around £160.
