Special day out in Norfolk (with a dog)

My DDad is celebrating a significant birthday in October and will be going with DMum and a well behaved dog to stay near Blickling. I always struggle with gift ideas, so I thought I might pick the brains of wise Mumsnetters and ask for suggestions for a lovely doggy-friendly day out or activity that I could give him a voucher for while he's away.

Any recommendations for things to do? I was wondering about a boat trip on the Broads, or a trip to see the seals at Blakeney (bit of a boat theme going on!) but would love any other ideas that you may have!

I’d do a day on the Broads- great fun.

These Broads Tours allow dogs on board www.broadstours.co.uk/norfolk-broads-river-trips/ and it’s quite a lot nearer than Brancaster.

The Gunton Arms - very popular though so you’ll need to book it now.

I'm not sure that a dig would be allowed on one of the seal watching boats. They go quite close to the seals.

We’ve just done the seal watching trip at Blakeney and there was a dog on our boat!

The Victoria Inn at Holkham has a lovely dog-friendly pub and restaurant and is located between the lovely Holkham beach (with walks through pine trees and sand dunes) and Holkham Hall.

Yes just come back from there and really enjoyed it, particularly the art although I bet it annoys some! Definitely a day on the broads then a steak at the Gunton Arms, we could only get in for lunch though despite a month's notice!

Link for Holkham Hall - www.holkham.co.uk/

It’s worth checking what events they have on as many (most?) are dog-friendly
