Oh crap. Just found out. DH is not going to be impressed. Crap!

How do you feel about it?

Going to assume your DH is the father and he merrily donated his half of the baby making potion willingly- in which case he'll probably be shocked but supportive.

How do you think he'll react?

How many girls/boys do you have already, out of interest (just me being nosy here!).

If you're a mum of four then you must already be one strong lady - you've got this 💪💐

DesdemonaDryEyes · 30/08/2021 19:53

Surprise?

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 30/08/2021 19:55

It doesn't matter how he feels, it matters how you feel.

Speaking from experience, there isn't too much different between having 4 dc and 5 (assuming there isn't a massive age gap) it's also perfectly fine not to continue with the pregnancy if it's not what you want.

He sounds delightful. And misogynistic
Scienceisnotopinion · 30/08/2021 20:07

Mysoginistic? No, he just going to be understandibly shocked. We werent careful once, 4 days before period was due 🤦‍♀️
Literally only just found out so still in shock, no doubt on keeping him/her tho.
Youngest is 5 so we were just starting to enjoy the older kids stage 😭

Congratulations Flowers

CatOfTheLand · 30/08/2021 20:13

I took 'DH is not going to be impressed' in the context it was used to mean he'd also be saying 'oh crap, oh crap', rather him being a pig.

My dh is a marshmallow and I'd probably say similar.

When are you going to tell him @Scienceisnotopinion ?

Scienceisnotopinion · 30/08/2021 20:14

When he comes from work, once kids are in bed

It does matter how her husband feels - they are a partnership and the baby is his as well.
DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 30/08/2021 20:18

It does matter how her husband feels it really doesn't. It's her body and her choice.

Anyways op, sounds like congrats are in order after a bit of a shock Flowers

Two people have made a baby but only one of their feelings about it matter? Of course it is her body and that carries the most weight in the decision, but most married couples do take their spouses feelings into account when taking such a big life choice. And no, I am not a man, but I do think that OP is right to consider her husband's feelings.
DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 30/08/2021 20:35

Correct.

Scienceisnotopinion · 30/08/2021 20:44

Well, DH feelings matter too! Anyway hes ok, just shocked and a bit speechless.

Only on Mumsnet is a bloke misogynistic because he's in shock at a surprise 5th pregnancy! 😂😂
AnneLovesGilbert · 30/08/2021 21:15

You both know how babies are made. He agreed to unprotected sex, now you’re pregnant. If it’s good news for you then congrats.

WorraLiberty · 30/08/2021 21:17

And only on Mumsnet does it not matter how the OP's husband feels about a surprise 5th pregnancy 🙄🙄

Good luck OP, no matter what you decide to do Thanks

Alonelonelylonersbadidea · 30/08/2021 21:18

Good luck!
We had a similar 5th surprise.
It's ok but if I'm honest stopping at one would've been a good idea 😊
