Posting for traffic.

Are Tonies boxes worth it? Thinking of getting one for DS who turns 5 soon.

DH doesn't think he'd use it. DS loves books & stories so I think he would.

We have one DD loves it. She listens to the stories after we have read to her or in the car on journeys etc. The tonies themselves are pretty steep at £15 ish each but it’s a lovely gift.

For older ones I think the yoto is a better option. Wider range of stories, plus radio and podcasts. Also looks more 'grown up' in the design.

We've had one for about 2 years. DD6 goes through periods where she uses it a lot and then times where it doesn't see the light of day. On reflection I don't think it's worth it to be honest. The box itself is expensive and then to buy the various Tonies also costs a bit. Audible from Amazon probably does the same job at cheaper cost.

We have a Yoto and it’s fab, lots of stories to choose from, a radio station and a daily podcast. They use cards instead of figures so less likely to get broken.

We have a Yoto. We looked at both but the Yoto has way more longevity IMO. DD uses it every day - we both listen to the Yoto radio, which is surprisingly good, and we put the daily podcast on at lunchtime.
