We had 9 months with no DC at home

It was the best time ever and, as much I love them, I long for that time to come again.

Where did they go for 9 months and why? (Hope that's not rude!)

Lucky you...mine are driving me mad. Looking forward to them returning to school!

Mums with primary age children will be checking into this thread to live vicariously through you and be disappointed we have to wait 10+ years.

The days where I came home to the house the way I left it, is a distant memory 🤣

I think thats perfectly reasonable statement. My tweens spent a fortnight at their dad's and it was great to come and go as I pleased, have the house the same as I left it etc. He rarely has them so I appreciate the 'time off'. People always seem shocked that I don't miss them but I have them 99% of the time so I'm not going to apologise for it.

They were just home for Christmas, different years but an overlap.

I do love having them back home really though, just remember that it was so easy for a while
