I never speak to people on the phone anymore

Does anyone else find that they really don’t speak to people on the phone anymore?
To keep in touch with friends it is nearly always texts and messages. Sometime making plans to meet. When we are together it’s great. Kids play nicely etc.

But life is just to busy that it’s feels hard to make time for a 20-30 min chat. But sending a 2 min message is fine. Also nothing people will be just as busy as me at the weekends with spending time with their kids and household chores. I don’t want to I interrupt.

I do, sometimes. It is nice to chat.
However, it is nice to have the option to be able to keep in contact when you can't synchronise your times
It is also nice to be able to have group chats etc.

No. I rarely send texts. If I do, it’s because I couldn’t get through on the phone.

I'm on the phone a lot for work, but rarely for social calls. It's only my dad that wants regular 'just checking in, no news' calls, friends and other family only want calls when it's something urgent or complicated.

The landline ringing is like the clanging chimes of doom. It's only MIL that rings on it, and she only rings when someone has died.

My parents and other ‘older’ relatives, most who don’t use the internet.

I chat to my dad on the phone quite a lot as we do not live near each other.

I do find that get at a lot of companies have FB pages and I communicate with them on messenger which saves hanging on the phone listening to awful music and being given 27 different options or the star button to go back go the beginning!

I rarely even use my phone to physically talk. The last year I’ve only used it to contact employers regarding interviews. So maybe twice?

Otherwise it’s email/text. But then I’ve only got eight contact in my phone and three of them are employers.

I've always loathed the phone so love that it's mainly messaging now.

I only speak to my parents and one friend on the phone. A lot of zoom for work, but I don't mind that as I can see the person. I find it really hard to concentrate when it's just a disembodied voice.

I much prefer messaging.
I love chatting to people face to face, but not on the phone.
I do talk to my Dad, Aunt and MIL on the phone though, as they don't really do messaging.

I only text, I call my DH when I’m in car travelling too and from work, discussing what to put on for dinner etc.

I hate talking on the phone, when my friend calls it’s always an emergency as she needs me ASAP and if my brother calls then I know it’s also an emergency or someone has died because like me he hates the phone

I only really speak to my 22yr old DS on the phone come to think of it?

Mind you, we chat for a good hour or more once a week but I used to chat to my best friend for hours.
