Bloody Pinterest no longer working on Safari

And I miss it!

OK, so it's the idlest of Sunday morning first world problems, but I use Pinterest a lot for storing all sorts of ideas, from what to cook to house stuff and ideas for Christmas presents. We're planning a bit of a house project next year and I want to pin stuff for it, but bloody Pinterest has stopped being supported by Safari and the little button I previously had on my browser bar has vanished. Up until today I could still pin from sites that had the button on their page, but now I've discovered I can't even do that anymore.

I've contacted Pinterest and after a lengthy email exchange in which they asked me to send videos of what happens when I try to pin something, they just said that my browser is no longer supported. Which they could have told me at the outset, without the video faff. I think the idea is that Chrome is more compatible with buying stuff, so they want to drive everyone over to that. I'm resisting because I don't want to be a compliant cog in the capitalist machine, but I'm going to have to if I want to keep my happy browsing habit aren't I? Does anyone know if there's anything else I could try?

(Next question - how do I do that?)

I'm on Safari and can get on. Do you need to update your version of Safari?

Or maybe Firefox for iOS? I'm on android but Google tells me it exists

Thanks for replies.

I can get on and browse Pinterest itself Squirry but just can't pin stuff from elsewhere. The overhelpful but ineffectual pinterest people said that anything after Safari Version 11 doesn't work, and I'm 12.1.2 so I'm guessing updating wouldn't work?

Firefox was the other browser they suggested Kerberos. Is it easy to download? I did try to install Chrome last year but it didn't look right and I got a scary virus alert so uninstalled immediately, then had to change all passwords which was a right pain. I think Safari might just be being phased out now, so I'll probably have to bite the bullet sometime. Feel grumpy about it though!

Ah, no, probably not then Sad.

I've never tried Firefox on the Mac. I downloaded it years ago when I had a Windows machine without issue. Like you, I'm always a bit wary of downloading stuff in case of viruses.
