He's coming home

It's late I've had a few glasses of wine. My sister just sent me a picture of my nephew on a flight coming home from Afghanistan. He's been serving there for the last few months and he is finally leaving hopefully for the last time. I'm so fucking happy. Cannot wait to give him a hug & tell him how proud we all all.

Oh, there will be lots of drinks. My Eldest just called me from a party with his mates. Mum,Mum check out the DM (sorry mumsnet!) Tommy is on a flight home the pic is on the websiteGrinGrinGrinWine

Fantastic news for you, what a relief for your family! Smile He will no doubt have all sorts of sad stories to tell, of what he experienced out there. I would not last 5 minutes out there, let alone months on a tour of duty. He and his fellow soldiers are all very brave, in my book.

For now though, he must be feeling so happy and you are all totally justified in getting hammered! Wine

It's the best news. We are a forces family so kinda get used to it but this last few days we have been sick with worry. The situation there is so volitle. Not sure when we will actually get to see him but at least he is out of there. They are so brave but they wouldn't admit to that.

One of my friends is on it too! She should have been back a while ago but they extended her to the drawdown as obviously. I point sending a replacement

Thanks all for replying so late, it was nice to share some good news. I don't think I have felt this relieved for a homecoming (there have been lots) since I stood on the dock waving my union jack & watching my lovely old dad come home from the Falklands. Sweet dream all.
@Sunbird24 I hope your friend gets home soon & enjoys some well deserved r&r
