Which side do you part your hair on?

Most people have a 'good' and 'bad' side of your face, I usually part my hair on the good side so hair falls over to the bad side to cover it and the good side is more visible.

I am wondering though, if parting your hair to fall over the 'bad side' emphasises it and draws mire attention to it.

What side of your face do you part your hair on?

Cheers!

I know what I'm going to try when I dry my hair tomorrow morning!

I know all the cool and fashionable people have a centre parting these days but I hate how it emphasises any asymmetry.

Goingbackto5oh5 · 28/08/2021 23:13

I have a bad side and a worse side so nothing helps really! I part mine on my right side and have a sort of longish side fringe going over my left side although I trim it shorter regularly. I find that if I part my hair in centre I give off those cartoon butler vibes, and parting it on the left makes my head look smaller than it already is. I feel like people whose parting falls naturally look really good because it naturally frames the face.

Yes, I'm thinking of the side part and not sure if I'm doing it on the right side or just drawing more attention to the 'bad side!' The centre parting shows my large forehead.

Centre as that where it naturally falls. I used to have a side parting but I stopped when I grew my hair out long

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 28/08/2021 23:16

I usually wear a centre parting. My ‘good’ side is left so if I do wear a side parting I’ll go left sweeping over to the right. It opens up the better side and looks better in photos if head tilted away slightly.

I feel so vain Grin

Do you have you hair going over your good side or bad side?

I have my side part on the left covering the right side - bad side!

I have mine the same way - left good side where the part is, covering the right side, but I started thinking recently if that only draws more attention to the bad side, but glad you assessed you photos. Nothing wrong with being a little vain Blush.

Straight down the middle as it refuses to do anything else

The dangerous side Grin

WellTidy · 29/08/2021 08:11

My mum is adamant that there is a girls side and a boys side. Girls part their hair on the right and boys part theirs on the left, apparently.

Sakura7 · 29/08/2021 08:17

My hair just won't take a side parting, so down the middle. Glad it seems to be back in fashion again!

Ulysses · 29/08/2021 08:49

The opposite way to the way it falls naturally. It gives my fine hair a bit of a lift and also covers up my droopy eyelid a smidge.

OverTheRubicon · 29/08/2021 08:51

Centre partings are all the trend now anyway - apparently millennials do side partings but gen z are all centre.
Personally I've had a side parting too long though, and feel weird with a centre one!

Theworldisquiethere · 29/08/2021 09:03

Very slightly to the right, can’t do fully central because of my widows peak but also can’t do a side parting because it looks awful on me and won’t stay in place

IndiaDreaming · 29/08/2021 09:09

I don't have a parting (short pixie cut)

Ughmaybenot · 29/08/2021 09:11

Parting is slightly to the right, so it covers slightly more of my left side usually. I have a lazy eye, which doesn’t necessarily bother me most of the time, it is what it is but on ‘bad’ days where it’s trying to escape from my head because I’m knackered, it’s nice to have a little more cover that side.

Phyllis321 · 29/08/2021 09:12

The right. It falls naturally quite strongly into a parting so there’s no point fighting it!
Should I be embarrassed that I have no idea which is my good side?

Gumbo · 29/08/2021 09:13

I used to part mine on the right, but since having brain surgery a couple of years ago I've had to change it to the other side... which means it hides the long curved scar, which is a bonus Grin

Reallyreallyborednow · 29/08/2021 09:16

Me neither. I’ve never noticed anyone elses “bad side” either.

I side part only because my hair is thin and fine, and a centre parting makes my hair look really limp and lifeless.
Most of the time though it’s pulled back into a pony though so no parting at all.

LavendulaAngustifolia · 29/08/2021 09:18

Depends what I feel like that day. Sometimes to the side, sometimes to the middle.

Bouledeneige · 29/08/2021 09:45

I just part it n the side it naturally falls. I once tried to do it on the other side and it just flopped back over during the night. I don't really have a good side of my face!

Happy36 · 29/08/2021 10:04

Middle

Hen2018 · 29/08/2021 10:05

Both my sides are pretty bad.

Parting is on the left where there is a “cowlick” in my hair.

Fifthtimelucky · 29/08/2021 11:26

Left. It falls better that way. I think centre partings are very unflattering on many people, though my daughters (early 20s) both have them.

I remember reading years ago (probably 1970s magazine) the beauty advice that you should 'never part your hair above a less than perfect nose'. I still think it's pretty good advice!

Mariell · 29/08/2021 11:43

My face is almost symmetrical and I have my hair parted in the middle.
