Bruised leg - should I be worried

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone things this is odd? I tripped and cut my leg the other day. Around that area is swelling and bruising but the bruising has now spread all the way down my leg into my foot. Is this normal?

Bruising often follows gravity so I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about.
My son hurt his ankle and ended up with bruising under his toes.

Yes, bruising often creeps downwards.
As long as there's no further swelling, and it doesn't get red or hot, it should be fine.

Ah thank you. That does make sense as it's been swollen and there's been pressure around the area I hurt it. Tried to keep it raised but I couldn't do that all the time.

A child kicked me so hard that the bruise went from knee to ankle and lasted about six weeks.
