iPhone accidentally restored to factory

DS has managed to restore my new phone to factory settings. Normally would be fine as would be backed up on iCloud but we've been in holiday accommodation for a week with no WiFi so no backup of any of our photos or anything for a week! I've gone to iCloud backup which is about a week ago but no photos! Is there any hope I can recover some photos of the last week?

If they aren't in iCloud sadly I don't think there is.

I am not an apple person but dh is and I'm sure this has happened before here. I think you can go into your apple account on a computer maybe, and set it to go back to a certain date, then everything should be there.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along to help.
