Passport photo- red eye advice

I’ve sent an online application off to renew DC passport. I took a photo and the indication was ‘good’ on their website. I have since seen elsewhere red eye will not be accepted and my DC has this in the photo I sent off.

In the list of tips and what’s acceptable it doesn’t actually say no red eye but does mention glare and reflection. Any advice? We have left it really tight so in a bit of a panic!

They might come back and ask for another picture. Maybe try against a different background. Was it a digital picture?

Yes it was digital, I was so wrapped up in getting one without a shadow I never even thought about red eye.

It does actually state no red eye on the government website as well. Hopefully if it’s not acceptable it doesn’t take too long for them to let me know.

Thanks

The “no shadows” thing is REALLY hard. How did you do it?

I used the flash on my iPhone and DC stood against a wall that didn’t get any sunlight as that seemed to be causing more shadows. It took a good few attempts though. To be honest I wouldn’t recommend the flash as that’s what’s caused the red eye!

Wish I had popped along to my local Timpsons instead.
