Looking for York restaurant recommendation

We have a week booked in York for October, coincides with DH's birthday. Looking for recommendations from locals for a nice restaurant in the city.

Will be child-free as the kids are teens and will be staying in the holiday cottage with pizza. We are staying in a property along Tadcaster Road, in the direction of the racecourse but not that far out. So ideally something that side of town, or city centre.

No dietary restrictions, happy to spend a bit for something more special than a pub meal.

Star in the City. Not sure where it is in relation to Tadcaster Road though sorry.

Star in the City is somewhere I’ve heard good things about but haven’t been except for drinks. From Tadcaster Road (where I am right now! 👋) you’d take the bus into the city centre, takes about 15 minutes, get off at York railway station and walk across the river from there, about 10 mins walk max.

Just googling... Rattle Owl looks nice too. Too much choice.

Lovely but expensive ...we had glass of wine sitting outside looking over the river
