Savings - how do you differentiate?

Hello,

I've seen lots of threads about having long term savings & short term savings. How do people differentiate between the two? Currently we just put it all into PBs. We have separate ISAs for retirement but I don't count them as savings as such as we don't touch the month.

I am not saving for anything in particular but keep a few months expenses in premium bonds and invest anything on top of that in stocks and shares. If I'm booking a holiday or something I will take the money from that from the PB and top it up from wages when I'm back. I believe Monzo for seperating out different savings pots if you have more defined goals (or don't want the risk of investing) but it sounds like extra admin I can't be bothered with!

Thank you, that's what we do but wasn't sure if my laziness meant I was missing a trick.
