Car - full or interim service?

My car is 14 years old automatic (with semi automatic option) and has done 30,000. I use it very little - just locally for shopping, socialising and my weekly mileage is minimal. The last 3 years I’ve just had an interim service and MOT. I’ve no clue whether I should get a full service or can keep getting interim ones. I’m strapped for cash but is this a false economy?

Changing the oil (which is on the inter service ) is the best thing you can do so if that's all you can afford it's massively better than nothing. Have you asked how much more for a full service, depending on make its not always that much more expensive.

Have you ever had the automatic gearbox fluid changed because this is something I'd recommend if its not been done for a long time. You can have this done at a separate time to spread the cost .

Thanks so much that’s really helpful. I’ll check on last years list of what was done and ask about the gearbox fluid.

Happy to give a ball park price if you pm me the registration, whilst I know that there are regional variables at least you would have an idea

OP, I could find your address from that info. Maybe think about getting it deleted.
