M4/M5 to Torquay - places to let the steam off a 4 year old?

In a moment of madness I've agreed to a trip down to Devon tomorrow to stay with family for a few days. Given that my DS has only ever managed a 2 hour journey before (and even those have been painful) I'm looking for any recommended stops along the route - nothing like a major attraction but smaller places for him to stretch his legs, eat and play for a bit.

Any suggestions?

Is he likely to fall asleep? My older child still falls asleep on long journeys so I would say drive as far as you can before having to stop. Then just stop at a services and have a walk around it. There is usually grass somewhere, maybe take a football or something.

Otherwise you risk making a long journey even longer and unnecessarily difficult

Sadly he resists sleep at all times, I’ll be amazed is he falls asleep en route. I think we will just end up winging it tho.
