This morning I learnt that Bill Nighy is (probably) in a relationship with Anna Wintour, and that Davina McCall is with that funny little hairdresser from This Morning, Michael Douglas.
Staggered doesn't come into it - I thought I was pretty on the ball with celebrity culture. Clearly not!

I knew about Davina McCall which is why I refuse to believe she really does her own hair with those Garnier boxes she's always advertising. Had no idea re Bill Nighy & Anna Wintour.

I learned recently that John Corbett (Aiden from SATC) married Bo Derek after being together for 20 years

I was surprised when I found out that Patrick Kielty and Cat Deely are a married couple, but in reality I don't know these people so know nothing about their lives, relationships, DC etc.

Same for Prunella Scales and Timothy West.

I knew all of these and I’m not into celebrities !!

I don’t understand why people care so much about who in the celeb world is seeing whom, and who has married whom.

I don't know about the others mentioned but don't Prunella and Tim have long running TV programmes based on them being a married couple. How is that a surprise

I didn't know until I saw their canal programmes in the last couple of years, but considering they have adult DC, they've clearly been together for decades and I remember Prunella Scales from her Fawlty towers days.

What about Lily Allen and the policeman guy from Stranger Things. Don’t know why I find that odd - seems like an odd juxtaposition to me!

Oh, remembered another one - was mindblown when I found out that Lara Lewington from Click (and other things) is married to Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis.

I’ve only just discovered that the author Victoria Hislop is married to Ian Hislop and has been for over 30 years. Even though they have the same surname I never put 2 and 2 together!

I thought Macauley Culkin died about five years ago until I read an article the other day about how he was in the new series of American Horror Story

I remember years ago (well before they got together) reading that they were great friends and had made a pact that if neither were married at 40 they would marry each other, and then they weren't, so they did!

I read a few unusual connections recently that surprised me.

Denise Lewis (gold medal heptathlete) is the daughter in law of the recently deceased Tom O'Connor
Judi Dench is the cousin of the woman who plays Terese in Neighbours
Geoffrey Palmer (Dad in Butterflies) was the father in law of the Mum in Outnumbered
Jamie Dornan (50 shades) is the son of law of Alun Lewis (jailed Daryll in Birds of a Feather)

I didn’t know Helen McCrory was married to Damian Lewis until she died recently.

For some reason I always forget that Paul Bettany (Avengers, A Knights Tale) is married to Jennifer Connelly (Labyrinth, Requiem For A Dream) and get this little jolt of surprise when I read about them, even though I technically "know" about them IYSWIM

I was surprised that Elle MacPherson was in a relationship (some reports they are engaged) to Andrew Wakefield (yes the disgraced Doctor)

And Raquel Welch with Nigel Lythgoe (Nasty Nigel from Popstars)
