We're going for a picnic on Monday (weather permitting!)

Feeling a bit bored of the usual standard fare - can anyone suggest anything a bit more interesting / exciting?? I'm pregnant so unfortunately salami / soft cheese etc is out but open to all ideas! Thank you

Samosas, salad, hot spicy soup in a flask, naan bread to dip, and mango for pudding.

A pressed sandwich (hollow out a loaf, paint inside with pesto. Add layers of roasted veg, mozzarella or any cheese you like and Parma ham, wrap it up, put some weights on it and refrigerate overnight-delicious!)

Do you have children to feed? We love cold pizza.

A flask of gazpacho soup or if looking for something really different try fruit soup (watermelon, strawberry etc).

Summer rolls served with a peanut sauce. Lots of you-tube videos on how to wet and roll up the papers.

Sheet of puff pastry, spread with pesto, roll up, cut into rounds, egg wash and bake for 10-15 minutes on 180° fan.

You can vary the filling:
Cheese and marmite (add some hot water to the marmite for easier spreading)
Ham and cheese
Tuna and cream cheese
Red pesto
Etc.

A Greek/Turkish sort of theme? Spanikopita, dolmades, olives, almonds, pita bread, tzatziki, chicken skewers, baklava.
