Pay - difference in yearly pay increase…

Everyone has been given a pay increase this month as a thank you for hard work etc etc.

Having spoken to other staff members it seems that they have been offered around a 14% increase which is huge, whereas I have been offered a 1% increase.

I am in a more senior position but even so the difference in huge!

Do you think I should try negotiate??

Try and find out what criteria they used to determine the award and if you still think it's unfair, then do raise.

That's a very big percentage difference. However 1% of £500k is a lot more money than 14% of £10k.

It depends what you all earned beforehand, IMO.

You always need to negotiate. Assuming you're a woman ina professional field you'll never meet a man that doesn't negotiate.

In the public sector those on the highest bands get the lowest % pay rises usually. For the reasons @Hercisback points out.
