Bowl of olives to start. Ribs with chips, cheese cake dessert. 1 WKD and 1 lemonade.

A child's macaroni cheese.

Thank you! Just interested to compare

Cost me £42. Just wondered if people thought that reasonable

About £40 as well then service on top.

Shirleyphallus · 27/08/2021 11:42

I am amazed that someone ordered a WKD to go with their dinner. I haven’t had one of those since about 2004 when I used to neck them alongside shots of apple sourz

Guestimate:

Olives - 4
Ribs - 18
Cheesecake - 6
Kids meal - 6
WKD - no idea, 4?
Lemonade - 2

£40. What were you expecting it to be?

goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:43

I'm surprised it's fairly steep. I went to Nando's and Pizza Express with more food, and paid half at Nando's and £28 pizza express

OP posts:
idontlikealdi · 27/08/2021 11:44

Nando's and PE are churn chains though, but really comparable

goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:44

@idontlikealdi closer to £30

OP posts:
Msgiggles30 · 27/08/2021 11:46

Approx:
Olives - £4-5
Ribs - £17
Cheese cake - £6
Kids meals - £5-6
Lemonde - £3
Wkd - £4
So literally very similar to you. Pretty standard I'd say x

finova · 27/08/2021 11:47

Bowl of olives £4 to start. Ribs with chips £16, cheese cake dessert £6 1 WKD £5 and 1 lemonade £2

A child's macaroni cheese £6

I’d worked out to be around £39

And if you went to Lidl you could've bought the lot for under a tenner. I'm not sure what your point is, some places charge more than others?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 27/08/2021 11:48

About £35 quid (north east and our locals are quite reasonable). Assume hu Gastro you mean pub.

If restaurant, more.

Blankscreen · 27/08/2021 11:48

I was going to say with a tip nearing £50

If it's a gastro pub presumably it is nice food and of a decent quality so you expect to pay more than say the Harvester

LobotomisedIceSkatingFan · 27/08/2021 11:48

You wouldn't be able to buy WKD at any gastropub I can think of.

CorrBlimeyGG · 27/08/2021 11:50

Our local gastropub does not sell WKD! £42 sounds more than reasonable.

You can't compare a good freshly prepared meal, with Nandos or PE.

TheWoleb · 27/08/2021 11:50

Who drinks WKD with food?

goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:50

I think I might be missing the actual definition of a gastro pub then Grin

Definitely more down market than Harvester here

OP posts:
SukonthaM · 27/08/2021 11:52

Olives £4
Ribs £13
Cheescake £4
Kids mac n cheese £4
Lemonade £2
Wkd dunno- £4?

goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:52

If it helps it's a Hungry Horse type chain

OP posts:
Mumblechum0 · 27/08/2021 11:53

Our local would charge £45 to £50 for that plus 12.5 percent service.

Surely a gastro pub would be better quality than a Harvester?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 27/08/2021 11:53

@TheWoleb

Who drinks WKD with food?
Who drinks WKD?
goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:54

@Mumblechum0 as I say I think I'm mistake, it isn't a gastro pub at all - It's a hungry horse type chain thing

OP posts:
Mumblechum0 · 27/08/2021 11:55

Ah x posted. Hungry Horse not what I’d call a gastro pub.

Shirleyphallus · 27/08/2021 11:55

Absolute LOL if you think that most gastro pubs freshly prepare their food. Many of them use fancy ready meals and preprepped puddings from Brakes Bros and the like
TheWoleb · 27/08/2021 11:55

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

She might be young. I had my last at about 19 I think. But never with food!

goingforatrot · 27/08/2021 11:56

I'm in my mid 20's! I just really like WKD Grin

I don't drink wine. Or hun. I like whisky but that's it.
