What do you do with your microwave? New kitchen

I'm having a new kitchen soon, the first time in my life I've ever had a new kitchen. It's only a small kitchen so I don't want my worktops overloaded (like they are at the moment!). No option to have it built-in so the kitchen place says I could have it on a bracket on the wall or they could make a special wall unit for it (but I know the latter option will be more £££). What does everyone else do with their clunky microwaves ? Do they look ok on wall brackets? If so, please can anyone send me a pic of theirs for some ideas? Or offer any advice. Thanks

OP, I have a tiny kitchen when the microwave broke a few years I didn't replace it and we haven't missed it at all. Maybe see how you go without one?

Either it could go on a hanging shelf or on a shelf on the counter like the pics?

I have a full length cupboard and it is on a shelf in there, I made a hole in the cupboard for the cord to be plugged into the wall next to it behind the fridge.

I leave the door open when it is on but its shut at all other times. Never been an issue

I'd put it on a shelf but I'm another one who doesn't have one anymore. I can't think of a time when I've missed it

I'm planning what @Imgladyoulikedit has done, and putting mine in a tall cupboard on an elbow-height shelf (to avoid reaching high to move hot food!). Just make sure you have adequate ventilation so the steam doesn't cause problems to the units, or just leave the cupboard door open during use.

I would really miss my microwave, I use it all the time for reheating leftovers, then there is the odd ready meal etc. The shelf is a good idea thanks, has anyone else got any more pics please?

I have a shelf over the top of the microwave like the picture someons else posted. It frees up a lot of space, especially with hooks on the sides

We had the microwave on brackets in our last, tiny, kitchen. Worked well. The one thing I'd advise is having it at the height that works for you to use it, not whoever fits it. You don't want to be reaching up to it.
