Bought Jaffa cakes not had them for a while, they're now bite sized, still taste good but so teeny. Has anything else shrunk so dramatically??

Blue Ribbands
McVities chocolate digestives

The carb police will tell us this is a Good Thing.

Wagon wheels. I think. They were the size of dustbin lids when I was a kid.

So many things...I think it's their cheeky way of increasing profits without being obvious and upping the prices, along with substituting ingredients for cheaper crappier ones.

Creme eggs were the most disappointing.

Sleepinghyena · 26/08/2021 17:39

Creme eggs!

All the good stuff that comes in packets.

If you haven’t tried them yet, may I recommend Jonuts. Utterly trashy food but really nice.

I bought a yellow Cadbury Snack recently and it now only has 4 biscuits!! Was seriously disappointed when I put my hand out for the 5th one and the packet was empty.

It's been happening for years, first started after the GFC in 2008 ish, add on top everyone wanted the Sugar tax etc

The Guardian and others like to think it is just down to brexit:

www.theguardian.com/business/2019/jan/21/brexit-shrinkflation-ons-pack-sizes

But the ONS has been tracking it for years

Justanotherlurker · 26/08/2021 19:18

Sorry meant to say it is called shrinkflation.

Bunnyfuller · 26/08/2021 19:21

It’s shrinkflation: don’t put prices up, just reduce the amount of whatever product it it. Loo roll is the worst. I used to struggle to carry a 24 roll pack, now it’s barely noticeable. Try it with monster munch or something similar, see how few you get 😂😂😂😂 bollocks to over packaging, right?!

GlamourSpider · 26/08/2021 19:25

Bought multi-pack of toffee crisps the other day, defo much flatter, less crisp and much less toffee :-(

justasking111 · 26/08/2021 22:22

I wondered about loo roll thought family were wasting it 🙄

Every chocolate bar I eat has shrunk, couldn’t believe the size of a double decker when I opened it recently
