My nieces two at nearly 6 and nearly 5 are going to start to watch in the next few days..
Pippins poo going down the toilet and being followed to the sewage works is my favourite.
Ds2 screamed with the laughter at then aged 5 at the fake poo at end! 🤣 🤣

Oh I loved the poo one! Grin

And the one that showed how they put stripes in toothpaste was interesting too.

derekthe1adyhamster · 25/08/2021 21:30

And the fire from the chip pan!

GiantKitten · 25/08/2021 21:32

I didn’t know it was available now!
Used to adore it when DC4 (now 28!) was pre-school.
Fond (Hmm) memories of Lily the tarantula, among others.
Which channel, please?

Oooohhh how we used to drift into Auntie Mabel and Pippin with a cup of tea and a plate of rich tea biscuits.

DS was mortified when we made him watch an episode of Open allHours and Auntie Mabel was a wanton nurse 😂.

Elderflower14 · 25/08/2021 21:34

Lots on You Tube...
The Oranges episode when was so NOT in Spain was hilarious!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

@derekthe1adyhamster

And the fire from the chip pan!
AM was shut in the cupboard and Pippin ran to the fire station!!

DS1 loved this as a toddler (and so did I), he's 18 now, but still hums the theme tune now and then.

Elderflower14 · 25/08/2021 21:41

I heard a whisper that the BBC stopped showing the crisp episode as crisps weren't considered healthy!

My kids used to love Come Outside (both now in their twenties)

DietrichandDiMaggio · 25/08/2021 21:45

I always remember the teapot factory episode.

SemiFeralDalek · 25/08/2021 21:48

DS (almost 5) and I watch it on YouTube. Its ace! Grin

Roselilly36 · 25/08/2021 22:01

I liked the marmalade episode too! aunty Mabel lost pippin and left him in the bus. I can remember watching these with my DS’, happy days.

SwayingInTime · 25/08/2021 22:02

I was really jealous when they went to the ercol factory and they just gave her a chair!

NapoleonOzmolysis · 25/08/2021 22:06

But she doesn't give a shit about that dog Hmm DS used to be terrified of watching it because she is forever losing that bloody dog Grin

latedecember1963 · 25/08/2021 22:13

They visited Kay's Soap Works in Ramsbottom in one episode.

AuntyMabelandPippin · 25/08/2021 22:47

Excuuuuse me, @NapoleonOzmolysis, Pippin is my world. Grin

NotagainTuesday · 25/08/2021 23:44

On one of the last days before the first lockdown, DS’s nursery said they’d been watching Pippin from an old BBC children’s show and he’d really enjoyed it. I didn’t remember it (too old) but found it on You Tube and it was a massive help during lockdown when I was trying to balance keeping a preschooler alive/entertained with getting used to Teams meetings Confused Marmalade was his favourite Smile

Ofnorman · 25/08/2021 23:53

My daughter hated Come Outside because Pippin was forever running off or getting lost, or just doing what he (she?) wasn't supposed to do.

She was such a pro establishment square.

35andThriving · 27/08/2021 13:02

I liked the dry cleaning episode.

Dh didn’t like ds watching the episode where Auntie Mabel and Pippin watch a wooden chair being made, as the song in it used to get stuck in his head for days!!

NapoleonOzmolysis · 27/08/2021 13:13

Ofnorman Not just mine then. That poor dog.

AliasGrape · 27/08/2021 13:24

When I taught nursery and reception I would sometimes put an episode on just before Friday hometime as a treat, I used to justify it by finding one vaguely linked to whatever topic we had been looking at that week (where possible anyway).

One time my mum was really ill and so was my much beloved dog so both were playing on my mind. We watched the episode where Pippin gets left at the tip and I burst into tears. Luckily the class were too engrosed to notice but not my finest moment really.

I can't wait till DD is old enough to watch, I dont think I'm going back to.teaching any time soon but I miss my Auntie Mabel fix.

dementedma · 27/08/2021 13:27

Awww DS loved this. He's 19 now

Gatekeeper · 27/08/2021 13:36

ohh I loved sitting watching this with my dc (now 17 & 19)...I can remember some of the songs word for word! but can't remember what I did yesterday

Janaih · 27/08/2021 13:39

The brush factory was near us, always exciting when that one was on Grin
