Job dilemma

I am a single parent and have received two job offers, one job is a much shorter commute. On a long term basis l would prefer the job which has the longer commute.

Should l accept the job with shorter commute or accept the job with longer commute & better prospects?

You need to decide as it will be you going to work.

The longer commute would be difficult but the job would be less stressful. I'm trying to think longer term.

I’d go for the shorter commute personally. Don’t let yourself be defined by your career, your personal life is far more important so focus on that.

Are there any differences in how family friendly they are. Do either offer any days working at home for a couple of days?

Progression would be a big plus for me as a single parent.

How old are your children? If they are going to be at secondary school in the next couple of years that will make a big difference too.

How much of a longer commute. Twice as long? 10 minutes? how are you travelling? Does it cost more?
