Selling Lego

Is there any market for random Lego? DS has got about four Kallax tubs of it just taking up space now and he wants to sell it. There's no identifiable kits in there, despite the reams of instruction booklets we've kept, but there's a good mix of stuff.

try ebay & just list it as a bundle.

Are you sure there aren’t sets in it? Even if it would take hours to sort.
If you bought the sets new the likelihood is that you still have most of the bits.
Either way there is a definite market for it.
We have bought bundles like yours on eBay and depending on what sets are potentially in it/if you have the mini figures it can be worth a lot.

The other option is to try and sort through it and get it back in to sets, order the missing bricks from somewhere like bricklink and list them individually as complete. You will get a lot more money this way.

We buy bundles that have sets we want in. Sort it all out and then put the sets we don’t want on eBay. Generally what we make on eBay breaks even with the cost of the bundle so all the ones we kept were essentially free.

You can sell it by weight on Music Magpie.

I buy bundles of lego off ebay every once in a while. We have loads but meh. I think it's about10-20 quid a kilo

Whatsnewpussyhat · 25/08/2021 13:34

You have the booklets, you could put the sets back together.

If they are all just the cheap kids sets then sell by weight mixed bags.

What type of sets does he have?
Retired star wars sets do well, even smaller ones.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 25/08/2021 13:35

Even if you only separated the mini figs and sold them as a bundle you can easily get £50 for 30.

No Star Wars sets - quite a few figures though so that might be an option to sell them separately if I can find all the heads Hmm

Some train track too - that might get some interest 🤷🏻‍♀️ Currently got it all soaking in the bath, so I'm fishing people/animals/baseboards/odds and sods out, then will bag the rest up.
