What are the best fancy chocolates?

I’m looking to buy some chocolates as a gift. I think Lindt chocolates are very nice, but I’m looking to buy something extra special. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

Leonidas for cream fillings or Charbonnel and Walker for fondants would be my picks.

Love Paul A Young. For a more widely available choc either Hotel Chocolat or Montezumas.

Last year I discovered a wonderful little independent chocolatier in Haworth. Their truffles are honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. The salted caramel and coconut oil ones are HEAVENLY. www.andchocolate.co.uk

Support a local business if you can. I found two independent chocolatiers near us and the one I visited was amazing.

Not a fan of Chococo. Found it too waxy. I love Godiva, Hotel Chocolat and Fortnum and Mason.

Charbonnel rose and Violet creams - just the best

I currently have no taste due to Covid and reading this thread is absolute torture!!!

I love the rose and violet (especially the violet) creams from Charbonnel et Walker.

I’ve just tried the Paul A Young ones because of this thread.

I thought they were nice but not particular special or memorable. For me the Rococo salted caramels are better than his.

Your fresh cream chocolate from 20 years ago could have been by Leonidas. Superb.
Don't think it's part of their current range, but their chocolates are excellent. Available on line (or Harrod's?)
