Reading Festival access by car??

Hi all, a few questions for anyone in the know about the area around the Reading Festival site. DD is camping for 5 days (!!!) and DH and I are staying a few miles away in an Airbnb. If she needs us to drop off stuff for her or wants to escape for shower/ sleep, are there any particular places that are easier for us in terms of traffic congestion or is it just one road in / out? Are there obvious meeting points if we need to collect her/ she gets an Uber?

Her MH isn’t great so might be could to have an exit strategy that won’t be thwarted by traffic if at all possible!

Any advice much appreciated.

No idea but you sound like lovely parents.

Ahh thank you!

I can see a car park ( Hills Meadow) listed for pick up but wonder I could potentially get closer if it wasn’t at a peak time.

Once everybody is in the site roads around are not too bad for driving. I can't vouch for this year but I often see people being picked up/ dropped off in Richfield Avenue. Most of Caversham is parking permits only, and they check frequently! As long as they are waiting for you you'd find somewhere for a quick handover. Traffic is bad on Thursday and Friday morning so I'd try the car park then, but expect queues

@tiredteacher100 thanks so much for that. It would be most likely at random non peak times/ middle of the day - or during the evening before it finishes if she has a wobble. If all is well then she can walk further to a pick up point but good to know we could potentially get down Richfield Avenue if absolutely necessary.

My dd used the loos at Homebase and definitely visited aldi whilst there so perhaps you could meet in the car park there?

The Leeds site is signposted for pick up/drop off/day tickets and different routes for camping (and crew/artists etc) so perhaps something similar is in place at Reading?

There's probably maps on the festival website.

Homebase has gone now. Often the toilets in John Lewis are used by festival goers It looks like Richfield Road is open at some points:
