I'm very nearly 40, divorced (though now dating a very lovely man), I own my beautiful home outright (no mortgage), I have two young children (8&5).

I haven't worked since my eldest was born however, I was a chef for 12 years prior to that.

My ex husband and I have no family locally and my ex works abroad for months at a time (prior to Covid and again once the world opens up) meaning I would currently struggle finding a job that fits with school drop off / pick up and holidays.

I have enough money in child maintenance and some savings to live month by month. However, I would like to be able to supplement this and do something in 5 years when the ex retires and we split childcare more evenly/ they don't need collecting from school / child maintenance drops.

What would you do?

I have A levels but don't have a degree. Being a chef isn't really an option as it is generally evenings, weekends and holidays and I'd just rather not.

Is there a job I could train for that I could do from home perhaps? A career that would take roughly 4/5 years to train for?

I don't really know what to do with myself....
