Da mount Gurkha regiments s supposed to be amazing for curry. I've not been but I really want to.

We're making our way up the coast slowly! We're going to Speke Hall, then on to see the Gormley sculptures, then further up the coast to Formby in the hope it might be quietening down by mid-late afternoon.

Open to any other ideas too though if people have them. I know the stretch from Southport north to Morecambe a lot better, although I lived in Ainsdale as a toddler.

Formby has A red squirrel sanctuary but I have to admit it's years since we have seen one!
Formby beach is lovely.

We went to Hilbre island last weekend. You have to time it based on the tides to walk over. They say you can see seals and occasionally whales and dolphins but the tide was right out when we went as I was paranoid about getting marooned so we didn't see anything except crabs.

It's 2 miles each way to walk out (take wellies) but it was a nice walk.
The beach there (west Kirby) was lovely too. We will definitely go again.

Sadly no longer in Crosby

Life long resident here! I recommend Kinsleys or Rocksalt. They're our go to for a family brunch/lunch. Both have a nice atmosphere and lovely staff.

Inside No4 is a nice restaurant on Carnegie Avenue (off Coronation Road) which is quite close to swimming pool/beach car park.

Not a restaurant though if OP is looking for somewhere to eat in

So Salsa or Rocksalt. Both different but delicious!

crosbyrose · 24/08/2021 18:52

Inside No 4 is good as well
