What’s a weird/unusual but ultimately pointless, mundane fact about yourself?

Mine is that I always end up sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed. Don’t know how I end up there or why I do it. Partner never notices me performing backflips either!

I suspect that I can see colour better than most people, especially yellow. I have no proof of this and I'm just basing it on conversations about colour (I crochet and quilt, there has been a lot of colour based conversations).

Tetrachromacy. I have it too. Was your dad colour blind?[/quote]
No, Dad could see colour but only at an ordinary level, he was noticeably less able to see slight differences in shades when my Mum and I could. I suspect my maternal grandmother was also good with colour.

StormOfSekhmet · 24/08/2021 13:26

I had my tonsils out, and they grew back

StormOfSekhmet · 24/08/2021 13:29

I also have extra bones in my neck

knackeredcat · 24/08/2021 14:07

I can do the Vulcan salute with both hands and the Spock/Roger Moore eyebrow raise simultaneously Grin

isthismylifenow · 24/08/2021 14:31

I have never had heartburn.

I do not get hungry.

I don't know the feeling of hunger. I just have reactions, like occasionally my stomach will grumble. Usually I just start shaking really badly though, and have passed out before. So I do just eat when its time to, rather than because I feel I want to.

My GP (bless his heart has passed on now) could never understand this. Once he asked me. If you haven't eaten all day and you see someone with a burger, what happens. So i replied that I would say to them, 'enjoy your burger' Grin

WTFUterus · 24/08/2021 14:43

Instead of getting brain freeze I get a pain in between my shoulder blades

TheDeliriMum · 24/08/2021 14:58

I am related to myself.

I'm adopted and when my husband started tracing his family tree on Ancestry, he delved into my birth and adoptive family history as well. Several generations ago, in the late 1800s, someone from my birth mother's family married someone from my adoptive mother's family...which makes me my own 2nd great grand niece of 1st cousin 4 x removed.

Lemondrcps · 24/08/2021 15:00

I can't burp

UngratefulDead · 24/08/2021 15:06

I have 3 kidneys 😊

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 24/08/2021 15:10

@UngratefulDead

I have 3 kidneys 😊
I've never heard of that before. Do you have two on one side and one on the other or is the third kidney in a completely unusual place? Do they all work?
ThePersonFromPorlock · 24/08/2021 15:30

I have a pure white wire-like hair which grows in the space between my eyebrows. My mum has one too and so does my eldest DS. We all have black eyebrows so it's quite noticeable. We all also have a small bald patch in one eyebrow!

UngratefulDead · 24/08/2021 15:51

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar It's a bit of a click baity fact tbh 😂

I had a kidney transplant but most people assume they take out your kidneys. They don't, they simply add one in around your front and pelvic area. I can sometimes feel it bulging! People who have had two transplants for example will likely have 4 kidneys

Mercedes519 · 24/08/2021 16:00

My spleen is in a funny place.

I didn't know this until they were rummaging when I had a c-section. It was a bit uncomfortable and the anesthetist told them to stop. I think they got distracted by not being able to find my spleen.

@TheDeliriMum my DH has that in his family tree - a relative from one side married a relative on the other side. Gets very confusing...

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 24/08/2021 16:07

UngratefulDead I didn't even know that I assumed they took the old kidney until you just said that, but I absolutely did assume it.

HunkyPunk · 24/08/2021 16:11

I know the ‘Hail Mary..’ off by heart in English and Latin. I’m not Catholic, or even religious, really! Didn’t grow up in a religious family. Think I taught myself when quite young, because I liked the sound of the words!

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 24/08/2021 16:13

I can lick my elbow

mamaweebeastie · 24/08/2021 16:13

I can open my jaw by an extra 3cm more than the average person but my tongue is very short so I can't get it pierced 😞

UngratefulDead · 24/08/2021 16:22

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar Most people assume the same. Even some doctors have asked me this!!

You will also usually only receive a transplant if BOTH kidneys fail. You can live a long and happy life if you only have one kidney or one of them is damaged.

But kidneys disease usually affects both at which stage you need a transplant and an additional kidney.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/08/2021 16:26

I'm really badly allergic to guinea pigs. If I hold one my face swells up, my eyes swell shut and I can't breathe properly.

No other animals, just guinea pigs.

TheSpottedZebra · 24/08/2021 16:42

@StormOfSekhmet

Me too.. but twice. Also, I only have 1 kidney (one removed) but as yet I've not grown another Sad
RestingStitchFace · 24/08/2021 16:47

Eating polos makes me sneeze.

BearSoFair · 24/08/2021 16:49

I can bend my thumb to rest behind the base knuckle of my index finger. Can't bend it back to my wrist though. And only on the left hand!

SpindleWhorl · 24/08/2021 16:51

Crazy tonsil regeneration people! Shock

I went for my post-hysterectomy check with my big bear of a surgeon. I'd had an MRI because of bladder pain.

He looked at me really seriously, and said, absolutely deadpan, 'Don't worry, your uterus hasn't grown back.' Then his eyes crinkled.

bamboocat · 24/08/2021 17:08

My colour vision is slightly different in each eye.

Anon135798642 · 24/08/2021 17:42

@Welshiefluff

I currently need a poo but it is not fully brewed yet.
