I'm not talking big houses or flash cars. More innocuous things.
Mine is fresh lemons and limes. I'm extremely frugal when it comes to shopping and always bought the bottles of concentrated juice for cooking or drinks but realised in the past year or so I've added them to my grocery shop without a second thought about the extra couple of quid.

@katnyps I think it was a blitz type one! It's still going strong a month later but I think I'm
going to have to start buying it now. So great for cleaning windows/ mirrors. They saw me coming with their freebies didn't they 😆

@sleepyhead I bought my own brand ketchup along to a beach bbq last year and me friends were horrified. They actually went and bought some Heinz from a shop. It'd never crossed my mind to buy Heinz!

That wasn't very nice of them. How rude.

Nice soap
Coffees out
Single malt whiskey
Cruelty free make up
Lush
Hotel Chocolate
Millies cookies
The best tickets for a concert/show/gig

DD (spoilt rotten) gets a toy etc from the gift shop on a day out or national trust visit. As a youngster I knew just to walk past.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 24/08/2021 10:12

Meat from the butchers rather than a supermarket

Dobbyhasnomaster · 24/08/2021 10:21

Mine is mainly food! Regular treat of nachos and dips, decent quality meat and fish whenever I want, being able to afford a bottle of wine when I want one. Being able to treat my family to meals out every now and again is a big source of happiness for me.

imisscashmere · 24/08/2021 10:26

Mine is fresh flowers. Feels like a huge indulgence Flowers

OverTheWater · 24/08/2021 10:27

Extras of food. Always have a months worth of dried and tinned food in the cupboard. Bulk buying to maintain the safety net. It's such a relief.

Also on a lighter note - organic Greek yoghurt. Yum.

ImAddictedToMyPhone · 24/08/2021 10:28

Top shelf meat products. Definitely a luxury for me.

Dontwatchfootball · 24/08/2021 10:33

Books and magazines - brand new, not from charity shops.

GuyFawkesDay · 24/08/2021 10:38

Decent make-up. Not mega, but No7 rather than Rimmel etc.
A Nespresso machine with milk foamer. Stops me buying coffee out and it feels a real luxury to have a lovely one at home
Nice mugs. Not ones from B&M that stain within months.
Good quality bedsheets.
The dog. A luxury but worth it!

Manicures
And order treats from scandi kitchen to get nostalgic sweet tastes (and cheese) from my childhood

yoshiblue · 24/08/2021 10:44

Groobox veg box fortnightly
Fresh flowers from Freddie's Flowers
Decent meat/fish from butchers/fishmongers
Nicer versions of some other foods eg vine tomatoes, fruit etc

I also buy candles, books and nice yarn for crocheting.

yoshiblue · 24/08/2021 10:46

Oh also Liz Earle skincare and Margaret Dabbs hand/foot products

Itstheprinciple · 24/08/2021 10:57

A gardener every fortnight. I love him! He has probably saved my marriage Grin

TweedePrik · 24/08/2021 11:10

Fresh flowers and candles. And we spend a fortune every year on the planters/garden.
Steak / Seafood and nice deli bits.
Always have a bottle of fizz or 2 in the fridge for when my friends come round.
Takeaways (or eating out in less Covidy times). Not yet happy to sit indoors anywhere and the weather has been shit.
My Kindle - my to be read "pile" is quite enormous and I add to it weekly.
Cleaner every week. I don't need a car valet or gardener as DH does all that and wouldn't trust anyone else. Grin

I still feel guilty about eating too much of the nice cheese or prawns etc. even though I can easily afford as much I could possibly want.

@Cazzovuoi XXL parking upgrades are available in which country/city/parking operator? I'm not trying to stalk you, I've just never heard of this but it makes sense. In the UK, I've only ever seen standard, parent and child or disabled parking spaces with the latter two usually having more space and closer to the entrance/exit.

whatwasIgoingtosay · 24/08/2021 11:14

@Supersimkin2

New novels of the season, slaver. It's the time the author gets paid most for their work, so treats all round.

M&S rotisserie chicken for cat (am allowed a leg).

Plants - altho the tomato hanging baskets bring in a profit of £2 daily cos they so bounteous.

I think the M&S rotisserie chicken for the cat must surely win the prize for the most indulgent luxury!

Yeah am not in the UK, I live in Switzerland Smile

Zilla1 · 24/08/2021 11:47

@Cazzovuoi thank you. I suspected it might be a civilised country.

FreeBritnee · 24/08/2021 11:49

Good thread! I can’t snap out of my frugality even though we’re pretty flush, so I rarely splurge. But I guess my splurge would be shopping at Waitrose.

Ajl46 · 24/08/2021 11:54
