Vaccine

I put this in the coronavirus section but I think it's too old hat - sorry if it is here too, I just wanted to share as this is a big deal for me:

I know this is old news to almost everyone, but I have severe health anxiety and have been putting off getting my vaccine (I know, risk of covid vs risk vaccine but I'm not rational sometimes)

Anyway, I want Pfizer as the wait for 4 weeks to make sure I didn't have a clot would be too much for me. With Pfizer I feel I will be anxious on the day and possibly if I get side effects but it'll be over quicker and I'll be more protected.

So, I'm going to a drop in clinic on Wednesday

Wish me luck.

Oh - 43, no real health issues (well, plenty in my head) white, female.

If you have a healthy immune system why are you even considering having the vaccine?

To protect myself from covid - I did a qcovid calculation that said I had a 1/3000 chance of hospitalisation which isn't that high but isn't that low either!

I'm not sure that's a helpful contribution to someone with health anxiety tbh. No one knows how covid will affect us and the evidence for the Pfizer vaccine seems pretty good to me?

Why not?

Good luck OP. I had zero side effects from Pfizer. I currently have Covid and it's been like having a cold, maybe if I hadn't had the vaccine it would have been worse, who knows!

Do they let you just choose which one you get?
I'm not sure they do at the vaccination centre I went to - under 40s got pfizer and over 40s got AZ.

I got AZ - just a sore arm as a side effect
Dd got Pfizer and didn't complain of any side effects

I'm going to a walk in vaccine centre that only does Pfizer so I know I'll get it. I couldn't handle the stress of waiting four weeks to make sure I was clear of clot risk with AZ - my anxiety would be through the roof Confused
