Open plan kitchen and living room lighting

I have put this in home improvement topic but no response. I can't decide what to do about lighting in my open plan kitchen and living area. I'm just moving in to the house. I originally thought spot lights as I've always had them (I'm boring!) but I've seen some lights (see photo) I would like over the kitchen island and wonder if these would look ok with spotlights as well. Would love to hear suggestions. I will have quite a few lamps as well but will need at times to be able to see better

We have pendants over the island and spots in targeted areas across the ceiling. With a floor standing lamp too. Use zoning and dimming too.

We have similar Wayfair lights over our Island and also have under cupboard lights and some lights in the cupboards that are glass fronted. To be honest we don't use those ones very often.

We've got spotlights in the kitchen, dining and seating areas and they are so bright! I tend to use just the kitchen spotlights when I'm cooking, the rest of the time we use the under cupboard lights and table lamps. I wish I'd had pendants over the dining table instead of the spotlights.

I wish I had pendants over my breakfast bar and dining table and less spots.
I find my spotlights too bright and have bought standard lamps and table lamps

If your spots are too bright why don’t you just put a lower watt bulb in them?
