Leaking washing machine

It's more a WWYD. Bought a new washing machine last week. It was installed on Thursday and has leaked twice in longer wash cycles.

It's from an independent shop. Fitter came out on Saturday and checked it over said he couldn't see a leak - all the pipes are fine. But it leaked again today.

Would you cut your losses and ask for a refund or persevere in trying to find out what's wrong??

Where's it leaking from?
Inlet? Waste? The machine itself?

hopeishere · 22/08/2021 22:08

It's comingfrom underneath it so I've no idea where it's actually leaking.

Is there a particular point in the cycle where it leaks?
Where does the waste water drain into?

It's leaked on different programmes but during the "wash" bit as the water was foamy. It drains out under the sink. It's definitely not coming from there though.

Mine is older but mine was leaking out the bottom too after I'd moved it into new house.
We adjusted the front levelling feet to raise the front of the machine by half a cm or so.
Don't know if this helps at all but thought I'd mention it

Didn't know whether it might be when it's draining and there might be an issue with the water hose

It could be too much washing powder/liquid.

I had the same problem.. a leak at the front but coming from underneath.

Pulled it all out, no sign if leak anywhere else.

Did a rinse cycle, no leak.

I googled it and if you much too much detergent in then the size of the wash needs then you get too many suds and the drain function doesn't work properly.

I'm using liquid but just up to the mark on the drawer.

Have you checked the sock etc trap?

hopeishere · 23/08/2021 07:04

Yes no socks. I'm more thinking would it be within my rights to ask for a refund?? Is it just a dud machine?!
