Spider on my ceiling!

I have a huge spider on the ceiling above my stairs. I can’t reach it due to the location, It’s been there for 2 days and only moves slightly.

I’m terrified when I have to walk under it.

Any idea how to deal with it? I don’t want to kill it.

Just duck and run past it or do you have a broom give it a nudge with that but it might scurry off at least you know where it is

An umbrella, not put all the way up to avoid bad luck, but wide enough so it doesn’t leap on to your crown 😑

Is your concern that if it disappears you won’t know where it’s lurking? If so then yes, nudge it off but have a glass handy to trap it and then take it outside

We live in the country so spiders are par for the course here. I suppose there's no point me telling you it won't hurt you before the "burn the house down" brigade turn up?

On a practical note, DM used to have a spider catcher on a stick. I'm not terribly sure how it worked, but she's very arachnophobic and seemed happy with it.

Charge it rent.

There wil be many more spiders closer to you than this one. As a PP says- it is spider season. Every sofa or chair will have few, they will be under skirting boards. You are never more than a couple of feet from a spider.
Learn to chill.

@HannaHat I’ve been running up and down the stairs with a large shirt over my head. I can’t deal with the thought of it in my hair!

I have a spider catcher but I can’t reach it. It’s too high and I can’t reach it from the landing. I’m normally good with spiders I can catch them in a glass and put them out.
