Parking in Brighton Near Fairlight Primary

MothershipG · 22/08/2021 13:36

Bit of a random one...DD has her second year student house near here and we were planning a weekend together but parking looks difficult. Friday 27th to Saturday 28th.

Happy to pay but can only stay for 4 hours max near her house and there don't even seem to be any spaces to rent on JustPark nearby.

Any locals have any ideas where the nearest permitted street parking is? Or want to rent me their drive, or sell me a visitors permit? Grin Grin

Park for an extra free three hours in Aldi Lewes Road car park (do a little shop so you are a customer)

Aah sorry, just seen you are planning on the whole weekend there rather than just dropping her off/helping her unpack.

Find out where parking restrictions end park there and walk or get the bus in

You can park at the Marina for free but not the Asda car park bit.

Up Elm Grove and up Hartington Road there are 'light touch' parking restrictions which allow anyone to aprk for free, except between 11am-12 and 6-7pm. You'd just need to move it somewhere else during those times.

Any of the roads after St Martin's Primary, or any of the roads on the left after Elm Grove Primary.

Park up lewes road in moulsecoomb and get a bus or walk down

My top tip for parking in Brighton is use the station carpark - it's the cheapest and always has spaces. Only a short walk to Lewes Road too where your DD is. Think jts about £14 for 24 hrs (compared to £30 for the Laine NCP)

Brighton is awful for parking, the green council actively discourage driving and are constantly putting in restrictions.

Thanks all for the local info, just what I needed!

I was surprised that the parking restrictions were stricter than in our street in London!
