Will this kill us?!

I put a large gammon joint in the slow cooker on low at 10:30. I went out to the shops and was home after 1hr 20 mins, then I noticed that the lid on the slow cooker wasn’t on completely.

Does this mean I’ve created all sorts of weird pork based bacteria on our tea, rendering it completion dangerous for human consumption?! Help!

Put the lid on properly. I've got a beef joint in mine on low, will have it about 5 pm.

A lid on a slow cooker is no different to a lid on a saucepan on the hob. If it’s not quite on properly some steam might escape but nothing bad will come in! It’ll still be delicious Wink
