Question for Scottish paeds nurses!

I’m a children’s nurse in England wanting to move to Scotland. My question is why does there never seem to be any job vacancies for paediatric nurses? I’ve been on the NHS Scotland jobs website and there never seems to be any vacancies for the two children’s hospitals in Glasgow or Edinburgh which I find so strange as the hospital I currently work for recruits every month!

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Most jobs are for internal candidates only in my trust. Maybe email hr via jobtrain and ask? You might have more luck joining an agency first, doing shifts in hospital and getting to know the staff that way? Good luck

Dundee has a children’s hospital, as does Aberdeen. The rest of children’s units in Scotland are in district generals, wishaw, larbert, borders, raigmore, crosshouse to name a few I know of. Hopefully you’ll find something soon, Perhaps worth contacting senior charge nurses to register interest they might let you know if anything comes up or if they are recruiting for bank.
