I just watched the parachute death from Hollyoaks. I’ve never watched Hollyoaks, but oh my god, it was so haunting. I felt terrified.

I’m not sure I recommend anyone watching it! The only other times I’ve really been affected by tv was on This is England the tv series - the rape by the stepfather and then the crack orgy for the young girl with all the skanky men. Both made me feel really ill.

The only other tv that gets to me is Futurama at the end of Jurassic Bark - the dog WAITED 😭

Anything that you couldn’t watch again/haunted you?

The ending of Ashes To Ashes where the way all the characters died is revealed.

The ending od Sons Of Anarchy. One of the least disappointing final moments of a series ever.

Last scene of Blair Witch. I thought it was rubbish first time round but got it second time of asking.

bigbabybum · 21/08/2021 21:02

Second the scene in Happy Valley where the girl gets repeatedly run over.

@Muuuuuuuuum1 when the blokes head comes through the ceiling, Jesus.

There was a film I watched in the late 90'sish that always stayed with me but I don't remember what it was called. It was set in the countryside, I want to say Ireland or Wales, and was about a group of young boys and one of them was trying to impress the others so killed a fox with a big stone. I remember It was the first time I was horrified by something on TV and I was really upset for ages. Was quite a sensitive child (and still am quite sensitive).

@Libraryghost

Every episode of tales of the unexpected. Ruined my childhood. The opening credits were enough to give you the willies..
Me too !
bigbabybum · 21/08/2021 21:03

When did Torchwood turn so dark???!

Kay1111 · 21/08/2021 21:03

I watched a programme on Chanel 4 ages ago about the civil war in Sri Lanka, I won’t go into detail about some of the awful things they do to each other but I couldn’t stop crying and I still think about it randomly on occasions

Another vote for Threads. I rewatched it last year, not sure where- possibly on Dailymotion if not Youtube, If anything it was worse than I first saw it back in the day.

orchidsonabudget · 21/08/2021 21:03

Also the last king of Scotland

bigbabybum · 21/08/2021 21:04

Same!!! I never watched it regularly but that episode was something else!
MydogWillow · 21/08/2021 21:05

A scene from Gunpowder on TV (with Kit Harington) where a female character was crushed to death under boards with weights added, shortly followed by a scene showing young male character being hung, drawn and quartered. I walked out of our lounge. Really disturbing scenes. I even wrote to the BBC with a complaint as it was barely after the watershed.....

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 21/08/2021 21:06

Them. It was great, but the bit with the bag has stuck in my head for months!!

5128gap · 21/08/2021 21:07

Trainspotting where they shoot up next to the baby's dead body. The baby crawling the walls in Trainspotting. Basically all of Trainspotting, the most disturbing film I've ever seen.
The end of Stephen Kings The Mist I think its called with the giant insects? Horrendous shocking twist.

Fruityfriday · 21/08/2021 21:08

And watching this on a Sunday evening!

As a child I accidentally watched a scene from 'Soldier, Soldier' where an unexploded hand-grenade landed amongst a group of the troops in the hills. One of the soldiers threw himself on top of it, I remember I didn't understand the logic of it at the time but my mum then explained and I found it so sad and haunting.

Omg that music and the woman dancing in front of the flames. Just reading your post I can hear the tune and have goosebumps!

@Muuuuuuuuum1

Episode of Luther where the killer is in the attic... still think of that whole scene from time to time.
That was TERRIFYING!
ohfook · 21/08/2021 21:09

@vampirethriller

Tig's daughter being burned to death in Sons of Anarchy. I think I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to nasty things in films but that made me feel sick. I had to go and wake my daughter up to cuddle her after.
This one definitely. I always felt that Tig got over this much quicker than I did!

Opie's, Tara's and Gemma's death's were all pretty harrowing tbh.

Pokkadots · 21/08/2021 21:10

The Jonathan Creek episode with Sheridan Smith in the bath and it sinks into a vat of skeletons

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 21/08/2021 21:11

All of Greys Anatomy, but specifically:

Izzy cutting Denny's LVAD wire and then him dying and her not getting off the bathroom floor for days. I was so sad for her.

George O'Malley's death (007). I was so shocked and utterly heartbroken.

The plane crash in general, the screaming haunts me.

Mark and Lexie's death (I honesty can't cope at all I'm already tearing up just thinking about it) SHE DID NOT DESERVE IT and I'll never get over it. They loved each other.

Obviously Dereks death and Mer having to turn him off.

And later when Merediths medical license is about to be removed and she goes off at the judge doctor who was the one who missed Dereks brain injury and didn't order the MRI. I was bawling my eyes out but also like 'yes Mer! You tell the bastard!'

Kerev leaving Jo for Izzy. Why? I don't know why he'd do that to her after everything she's been through. Judged him hard and cried a lot.

It's basically just trauma after trauma after trauma.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 21/08/2021 21:14

@Kiki275

Spooks where the young female agent has her hand & face deep fried. Years later I still think of it.
Bloody hell. Yes. Awful.
