How do you find a funeral?

I've just read some awful news and someone who I used to know has lost a child. I would like to make a donation/send a card but don't know where they live any more so would like to do it through the undertakers, but I can't find any information.
Does anyone know if funerals are listed for the public?

You would only be able to find out if you know the funeral director they are using.

They quite often post details on Facebook so it may be worth a look on there.

It may be better to try and contact the person first though.

Lots of people don't like cards, and it may feel a little intrusive for someone they knew once to send a card through the funeral director.

There's nothing to stop you making a donation to a relevant charity in their name though.

where did you find out from. ,can you contact them?

Thanks both, I don't wish to offend which is why I'd like to find out if they have a charity donation, we were very close but drifted over time so no falling out. I saw a police post on fb which someone forwarded to me, I've searched all the local funeral directors but nothing. I don't have their contact details, maybe I should leave it, but when I had horrendous news I really appreciated those that took the time to message. I knew their child well until they moved away at 9, I have some lovely photos which I'm fairly sure they won't have, whilst I won't tell them this now in the future they might like them?

Sorry to hear this , if you have the local police details then you could try the local crematorium listings ?

Are there any mutual friends? Or are the family on FB or other social media?

RoseDog · 21/08/2021 23:25

Our local newspaper has an obituary section but the family have to agree to have the information posted/printed can you check local newspapers online?

Our local crematorium lists the upcoming services for the following week but some are kept anonymous at the request of the family. Do you have any mutual friends you could ask?
