Not everyday chores or cleaning, I’m thinking diy/fixing/sorting.

These are mine:
Fix cupboard in porch
Take rubbish in back garden to the tip
Get new shower screen
Get new electric hob fitted
Declutter dc’s room when they go back to school

I feel better now I’ve made a list!

We have just had a new kitchen fitted, the floor tiles are done, but I need to collect the wall tiles then phone Keith to come and put them up.
Curtain need to be put up in the kitchen.
Bathrooms and bedrooms need painting and the front door the same.
Grass could do with a mow….

Refit Lino/vinyl in two small loos

New sink it at minimum taps

New taps in downstairs loo

Redo tiling in shower room. We had a leak from tap and it totally destroyed the tiling on the boxing in and we had black mould all at the back. It had also spread under the wall Lino in the bedroom and started to attack a chest of drawers

All bedroom windows need redoing before winter (but the building owner is taking care of that, thank goodness!). Still waiting for a date, winter temperatures arrive mid-September where I live so this should be fun if it lasts any longer.

Put together some furniture for spare room.

Clean rugs and get a new one for spare room.

Replace the curtains in main bedroom.

New coat and shoe hangers at the door.

  • New kitchen tap.
  • Front of house needs painting.
  • Have panel shutters fitted in the bedrooms.
  • Trim neighbour’s shrub which is overhanging my new shrub.
MinnieMountain · 21/08/2021 10:54

And sort of the books DS has grown out of.

DriftGames · 21/08/2021 10:58

Paint my inner doorstep - it's currently a dated burgundy but I have some grey paint so hoping that will brighten the area.

Get one last strip of wallpaper up in my living room. Paint the coving in there too, generally finish the decorating I guess.

Dye my hair. Not a household chore but a chore for me nonetheless.

I'm currently isolating with covid so trying to get as much done in this time around caring for my almost 2 year old!

languagelover96 · 21/08/2021 11:03

This is my list
Find Halloween music
Buy Christmas gifts
Start looking at tuition for myself, not sure what yet
Move
Laugh
Learn and live happily

PhoboPhobia · 21/08/2021 11:04

DH is about to fit a new tap in the kitchen. I need to measure for new blinds.

We have a lot of garden stuff needs doing but it’s tipping it down here.

LadyPoison · 21/08/2021 11:06

Investigate a dodgy damp patch that's appeared on the wall of the landing. That's probably the most pressing

Make some sort of guard to stop the demon puppy from sneaking under the sofa and ripping the stuffing out from underneath. Actually probably even more pressing!

Nannewnannew · 21/08/2021 11:13

Whole house needs redecorating but don’t have the money or motivation.
Cupboard under stairs needs clearing out, will do that today.
Sort out some books for charity shop.
Hang new curtains in spare bedroom.
Clean all windows inside.
Think I need to get started!

Natsku · 21/08/2021 11:17

I need to organise DS's clothes cupboard, take out the summer clothes and sort through his autumn/winter clothes to see what still fits.

Rug in the basement needs cleaning but that needs to wait for when the forecast predicts a few dry days in a row so it can dry outside.

The apples that have fallen off the tree need picking up but I am delegating that job to the children.

Tangledtresses · 21/08/2021 11:19

Make jam from all the fruit in the garden
And clear out the garage

Curlymam88 · 21/08/2021 11:27

I have 2 pairs of curtains that I've half shortened and need to stick a hem on. Currently just hanging there with pins at the bottom of them 😖

ParentingDilemmas · 21/08/2021 11:27

Paint the hallway is the only one that springs to mind

Whole house needs decorating and is all currently wood chip Hmm

I’ve made a start stripping it, and was expecting to need to have the entire downstairs skimmed but remarkably the walls are in pretty good shape!

The only room that’s been done is the bathroom, every single other thing needs updating…

OhGiveUp · 21/08/2021 11:40

Finish the rear garden off. It just needs the turf laying, but it's one of those ' tomorrow ' jobs. As we all know, tomorrow never comes 😬

TheChosenTwo · 23/08/2021 22:31

We need to do something to our driveway (like pave it or whatever) and also want to drop the kerb to give us double access.
Finish the garden pond and some cedar cladding and then possibly turf the grass (again!).
Would like to organise a mega piece of artwork with lots of my photos for the kitchen, it’s got a 6 metre blank stretch of wall crying out for something but 5 years later I haven’t made my mind up.
We’ve slowly knocked down and rebuild our house around ourselves while living in it for the last 12 years, it’s been a labour of love but is finally almost there. Maybe this time next year! Although I want to replace the main bathroom because it was the first room we did and I don’t like it anymore. It’s fine though, just a change in taste but I think 10 years is a good amount of time, the bath, toilet and sink are all fine but the tiles are not what i like anymore.
