Bus abducted by Aliens

No scoffing at the back there. You will soon change your mind when you read this.

So my Bus (let's call it Bus Z. The countdown said 1 minute, then due. I think you will all agree that at 1 minute it should have been at or near the stop before (which I cannot see because the road bends). Due means it is coming, from the stop before, right?

Suddenly it is off the board and another bus (no previously on the board) will be along in 6 minutes, another bus (Y) I could get would be along in 9 minutes. Then a number of other buses jockey for position (yes I know this is normal , buses overtake each other etc etc) but why say a bus is due when it isn't!

I think mine is the only explanation!

I saw another bus Z on the system coming in 24 minutes but had already decided to get bus Y when what comes hurtling towards me but bus Z (not on the indicator!!).

It looked none the worse for it's ordeal!

Aliens have infiltrated TFL, busses disappear all the time like this. 🪐

Woooooooooo!

It’s surprisingly common, particularly in London.

Daisychainsandglitter · 21/08/2021 07:11

And Birmingham- this has happened to me many times!

OnGoldenPond · 21/08/2021 09:31

Happens all the time on my bus route. Think it might be a faulty transponder on the bus - the signal to the tracking system drops out so the bus disappears from the app but it then arrives at your stop.

Deathraystare · 21/08/2021 09:52

@OnGoldenPond

Nope definitely Aliens I tell you!

Spoilsport! Grin

This is proof of wormholes.

TheDistortion · 21/08/2021 09:56

When I saw your title I thought ooh, someone else who does what I do! If I am on public transport I imagine the whole bus (or tube carriage) being abducted by aliens and placed on another planet. Who are we all? How do we get on? Who becomes the leader? What resources do we have in our bags and pockets? If we have to, you know, repopulate the new world - who am I hoping to end up with?
But it turns out that’s just me.

Deathraystare · 21/08/2021 12:24

@TheDistortion

Well I cannot say I would ever want to repopulate with anyone on my usual bus routes!!!! I am probably too old now so would be exterminated!

Of course it's faulty, it's jammed by the aliens when they abduct the bus, obv.

Hmm
MinesAMassiveSalad · 21/08/2021 12:31

My regular bus didn't finish it's route one day. (We all had to get off while driver went back to depot so I had even paid.Hmm)

We missed the kid's sports class we were going to so later I went in to complain at said depot. Left my written description of the event in the box. Got a letter a couple of months later saying my complaint referred to a service that "had never existed"Confused yours, etc.

Parallel alternate universes is the only plausible explanation.

SaskiaRembrandt · 21/08/2021 13:00

This happens in Sheffield too. We also get ghost buses that suddenly appear despite not being on the board.

Sorry! BlushGrin
