Civil Service Job Application- Help please!

Ok you lovely lot, I know there’s quite a few of you who know about this from previous threads.
Am slightly confused- I have to use the STAR approach for the behaviors, and that’s fine. However I’m also being assessed against 2 Technical skills, and they also want applicants to use the STAR method for these skills, but I thought that method was just for behaviours? Any advice oh civil servants 💐

Well i think would be easier to use star for specifical skills. Than for vaguer things like data analysis.

The ad will link to descriptors of the technical skills I would imagine?

Then just give examples using the STAR layout.

What technical skills is it asking for and what grade?

It’s Grade 7 Grade C. Technical Skills are: strong experience of [topic] agendas and social trends; and a confident subject matter expert with excellent knowledge of [topic] issues in the UK.

Are you confident in your technical skills for the role and can you evidence this with examples/qualifications/experience at the level of the grade?

If you’re going for grade 7s you must be fairly experienced and confident- are you in the civil service now?

Yes I have the qualifications, professional membership, significant experience but I thought these would be factual as opposed to demonstrating through STAR.

No not civil service but am public sector
