I'm in the process of getting a new car. Last car change, the previous car was a write-off and insurance for the year had been paid upfront and was only a month before expiring.
This time, I've got a few months left of current policy to go. Phoned insurers to get idea of cancellation cost and they suggested switching policy to new car and gave a quote for the remaining period.
My question is (and it's a bit embarrassing), if I split the quote they gave over the time remaining of the policy, would the cost of the new premium (much cheaper than current policy) be added to what I'm now paying monthly or would I pay the new premium amount. I'm too embarrassed by this failure of being an adult to phone the insurers back and ask!
