Will I get fined for forgetting to update drivers licence?

I have a provisional licence because I was learning to drive two years ago but then moved house and haven’t had any lessons since.

I’m moving to a new house and want to start lessons again but found my licence and realised the address is my old one from two years ago.

On the DVLA website it says you can be fined £1000 for not updating it. To update it, you have to put in your most recent addresses so they will see I’ve been at a different address for two years.

Will I get a fine?

No you won't, just do it Asap. It will be fine 👍

Its a fine if you get stopped by the police with incorrect details, expired photocard etc. You don't have to update a license you aren't using.

I forgot to update mine for 2 years after moving. Didn’t get a fine .

Nope - loads of people do this. Just update it now.

No you won’t, anyway, mine has been with the DVLA for 8 weeks so far, who knows how long it will take, according to the news it is taking around 10 weeks to process and upto a further 10 weeks to actually get the new ones out to motorists.

I didnt update my for several years, because I moved to a city and disnt have a car anymore. I just forgot.
When I moved to the country, I needed a car so had to update my license. I phoned to ask them and they didnt care at all. Said just to update it like anyone else would, and I'd get my new one with my new address. So I'd moved twice before updating.

It only really matters if you get caught driving with it. Then it's a fine of £1000 and your insurance is also invalid.

*mine not my

Don’t expect it back from the DVLA anytime soon.
